A top-tier Boston-area gene therapy biotech is seeking an Associate Director-level hire to perform CRISPR-based gene editing in their pioneering of off-the-shelf in vivo treatment toward genetic afflictions in the immuno-heme system.
This role encompasses protein engineering, biology as well as early translational, and is ideal for an individual who seeks to make a profound impact with state-of-the-art technology in a passionate team. A bit more about the role:
Responsibilities:
- Conducting protein design activities with structural biology
- Designing high-throughput screening assays in bacterial settings
- Analyzing and interpreting screening data, producing accurate experimental records, working cross functionally in communicating findings
- Complete laboratory experiments in timely fashion, including maintaining and producing a complete and accurate experimental records
- Participate in scientific discussions with the rest of the organization and present recent findings
Qualifications:
- PhD in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology with 8+ years’ experience in biotechnology, pharma or academia (industry experience preferred)
- Protein design track record (structural biology), Python programming
- Bacterial model experience (e-coli)
- DNA cloning experience, handling DNA library
- Cell biology and CRISPR gene editing experience
